Designers of workplaces, shops, hotels, and restaurants are constantly looking for solutions to make interiors more sustainable. But how do you do this in a genuinely circular manner? Aectual comes with a radical new approach: starting with waste, not creating any waste during the production process, and taking back products after use and 3D printing them again. In collaboration with Tetra Pak, Aectual offers various systems and objects in PolyAl, made from recycled drinking carton packaging.

In 2021, Tetra Pak sold more than 192 billion packages worldwide. At the same time, there are an estimated 5 billion buildings globally. So what if we turned all those drinking cartons into high-quality architectural material to shape our everyday living spaces, thus needing less new material?

This idea formed the basis for a collaboration between Tetra Pak and Aectual, with recycling as the driving force. Tetra Pak commits to using Aectual interior solutions made from recycled beverage cartons whenever it is redesigning office spaces. In the meantime, the wall systems, screens, and furniture objects made from drink carton material are also in high demand by other customers and interior designers.

Drinking cartons comprise approximately 75% cardboard and 25% polymer-aluminum mix, or 'PolyAl'. à Beverage cartons comprise approximately 75% paperboard and 25% aluminium and polyethylene. During the recycling process, the fibre content (paper) is extracted and is recycled into paper-based products whilst the remaining non-fibre fraction, known as polyAl, is recycled into other products and is the raw ingredient for the 3D printing material Aectual uses.

The small pieces of aluminum give the material depth and ensure that the color absorbs well into the mix. The material looks like clay and has a nice finish. By printing with it, special patterns and shapes can be made, exactly to size, making it highly suitable for interiors.

All products offered by Aectual are digitally customizable, allowing for an infinite number of variations. Objects can be customized directly via our configurator. Systems we digitally generate to ensure an exact fit to the interior. In both cases, there is no stock; everything is 3D printed on demand.


Large custom planters

Large planters give any interior a super-boost. Not only do plants make it healthier indoors, but planters also function as a privacy wall, relaxation zone, or routing. With Aectuals custom-made systems, you can easily create unique planters that exactly match the rest of your interior:

Boxy Planter

The name of the Boxy says it all; it is a square planter that can be scaled in width and depth up to no less than 1 meter (and even up to 1.28 m in height) and can be combined with three different surfaces. Place them next to your desk as a half-high partition wall, for example, or as a low, wide border.

Connect Planter

Connect planters comprise a string of round pots that are adjustble in height and diameter and that have a small 'bite', so they fit together precisely. This way, you can easily demarcate places and make a strong statement in your interior. The connect planter also comes in various surfaces.

Column Planter

Column planters elevate every plant to become an iconic part of a space. Configure the planters in height and shape and create the perfect green addition to your space.⁠

Wrap wall system

Are you looking for a wall panel that is applicable in a curved manner with a texture of your choice? The '‘Wrap’ system literally wraps itself around any wall, column, or counter. Wrap panels are attached via a click system against the back wall. Available in six different surfaces.

Poufs

From afar, the ‘Puff Poufs’ look a bit like cacti, but these poufs are much more comfortable! Use them as a seating element or coffee table, and choose the surface of your choice. Playing with texture, shape, and color allows you to vary the designs according to taste.

All systems and objects available in drink carton material come in 11 standard colors. Other colors are possible at an additional cost, except white and yellow.

Completely circular solution
