Signature 3D-printed ceilings and storefronts for lululemon

Aectual creates global rollout of 3D-printed signature ceilings and storefronts with lululemon.

Aectual is working closely with lululemon’s global design team on the development and rollout of signature 3D-printed ceilings and storefront systems for key lululemon stores worldwide.

The architectural system translates lululemon’s brand language into spatial form, drawing inspiration from the yogo logo and the flowing design lines of some of the brand’s most iconic products. Produced using large-scale 3D printing, the ceilings and storefronts introduce soft, double-curved surfaces that move beyond flat planes to create immersive, sculptural interiors.

The first installations premiered in Milan and were recently completed at lululemon’s SoHo flagship in New York, with further locations underway in Birmingham, Tokyo, and additional cities to follow.

Central to the design is Aectual’s ability to produce double-curved architectural panels using a custom-developed print technique. Panels connect seamlessly, creating continuous surfaces that give each store the feeling of being gently wrapped in a flowing, three-dimensional fabric.

The collaboration demonstrates how advanced 3D printing can be applied at architectural scale to support expressive, globally adaptable retail environments. By combining parametric design with circular manufacturing, the system balances strong spatial identity with long-term performance and scalability.

All ceilings and storefront elements are produced from Aectual’s recycled consumer waste material blend and form part of the company’s Circular Service, allowing components to be taken back and reprinted into new architectural products at end of use. The system is fully specified for interior applications, including fire-retardant and UV-stable properties, and is tested and certified for local market requirements.

Across regions, the system provides a consistent yet adaptable architectural language that can be tailored to different store typologies while remaining closely aligned with lululemon’s brand identity. From Europe to North America and Asia, the rollout continues to expand, with each location receiving a bespoke configuration tailored to its architecture.
