Weave custom woven 3D wall panels are flexible panels comprising three (or more) overlapping printed layers, creating a woven appearance. You are free to design the patterns of each layer, creating a custom effect. Seemingly simple at first, the bendable panel system is very versatile and can be used in various ways. Weave custom woven 3D wall panels inspired by Nike Flyknit
For Nike Town Londen, the Nike design team was looking to create an aesthetic referring to their infamous Flyknit shoe. They made a Weave pattern based on a strong grid. Its 3rd (and most visible) layer has denser vertical lines towards the edges of each panel, resulting in a gradient effect creating the notion of movement.
Weave custom woven 3D ceiling panels for temporary Dutch House of Representatives
Zecc architects sought a circular, innovative way to create curved ceiling panels that blended into columns. Together with Aectuals design engineers, they customized the Weave system into 180 unique panels. The overall weave pattern took the position of the columns as a starting point, creating a subtle ribbed starting at each column and then expanding and being mirrored in every adjacent panel. Lighting was integrated behind the panels, and openings in the pattern carefully considered the position of each lamp.

The temporary UAE pavilion at the Floriade Expo was clad in light green Weave panels with a subtle diamond pattern. Pragma architects searched for a façade system that enabled them to design smooth rounded corners in a custom color, which could also be totally recycled after use. They created a harmonized look by applying the weave panels on the pavilion façade and all doors.
Create your Weave panels
Excited to create your own Weave custom woven 3D wall panels? Go to the Weave system page for more information. In general, you start by designing three layers.
Layer 1: Ornament
This is the back layer of the panel; here, you are free to create an ornament, such as circles or a diamond pattern, as was the case with the UAE pavilion.
Layer 2: Structure + depth
The direction of this layer needs to differ at least 30 degrees from the 3rd top layer. This layer adds depth to the panel and determines how ‘deep’ the pattern of the top layer can sink backward.
Layer 3: Pattern + panel size
With the outline of this layer, you determine the size of every panel and the top and most visible pattern. Make sure the layers are positioned at least every 10 cm and at least at a 30-degree angle to layer 2.
Individual panel sizes are up to 1.30 x 2.30 m. Because patterns can continue in every separate panel, large, unified surfaces can be created.
