On Thursday, June 4th, Aectual hosted its very first Garden Party — and despite the pouring rain, the afternoon turned out to be a great success. What many guests didn’t know is that the “garden” was actually indoors. For the occasion, our showroom and 3D print lab were transformed into a lush indoor garden, complete with greenery, and of course: the debut of our brand-new Boxy Planters.

An Inspiring Afternoon for the Creative Community
The goal of the Garden Party was simple: to bring together architects, interior designers, partners, and clients in an informal yet inspiring setting — and it certainly delivered. The guest list reflected a vibrant cross-section of the creative industry, including leading design studios, innovative product partners, and voices from the academic world. With a dynamic mix of familiar faces and new connections, the atmosphere was lively, collaborative, and full of ideas.

Introducing the Boxy Planter: The Planter That Ticks All Boxes

The highlight of the day? The Boxy Planter — Aectual’s newest modular design, that merges style and circularity. Co-founder Hedwig Heinsman gave a short talk about Aectual’s journey, from pioneers in parametric design to creators of fully circular interior products. Then, CEO Hans Vermeulen stole the show by demonstrating with flair (and a few laughs) just how smoothly Boxy glides around on its wheels.

Guess & Win: How Many Recycled Cartons in a Boxy Planter?
One of the evening’s highlights was a playful guessing contest: how many recycled beverage cartons were used to create one large Boxy planter? Since Boxy planters are 3D printed using reclaimed materials from used drink cartons — specifically the polymer and aluminum left over after the paper is recycled — this question offered an insight into the product’s circularity.

The correct answer? A surprising 2210 beverage boxes!
Three guests came impressively close with their guesses, so we decided to reward all three with a large Boxy of their own:

The energy, enthusiasm, and inspiring conversations of the evening made one thing clear: this event is just the beginning. Aectual plans to make the Garden Party an annual tradition.
