Aectual is looking for a junior computational designer with excellent parametric skills

Aectual is the leading platform for 100% circular architectural and interior products, crafted using advanced 3D printing technology and reusable materials. Clients can easily create customized designs for products such as acoustic wall panels, furniture, and facades, utilizing smart design algorithms. Our clientele includes renowned companies like Nike, Tiffany & Co., and BMW, as well as Schiphol Airport and Tetra Pak, all spread across the globe. We are rapidly expanding our range of architectural products and designer collaborations. Every product we create and our company as a whole are built on sustainable design principles—our entire team is committed to achieving 100% circularity.

Required skills & character:

  • Possess a curious and positive personality with a strong interest in digital fabrication, materials, design, and product development
  • Proven skills in parametric design are essential, particularly in Rhino and Grasshopper, knowledge of Python or other scripting/programming languages is a plus
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, technical, and creative design abilities
  • Enjoy connecting virtual design tools with actual digital fabrication tools
  • Hold a master's degree in architecture, design, or a related field
  • Exhibit strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal



Role & tasks (varying per project):

  • You will be working closely with our design-to-production and product development team
  • Generating 3D print files and shop drawings
  • Translating client requirements into printable designs using our design scripts
  • Creating visualizations of our products for client projects
  • Collaborating with architects and designers to develop new system variants
  • Developing parametric design scripts based on user input, product design, and sales inquiries
  • Contributing to our growing parametric product library and making products available on our platform
  • Producing images, 3D models, and product information for marketing purposes
  • Developing and maintaining scripts connected to our online platform tools and product XL 3D print parameters
