Parametric Designer & 3D Print LAB operator

Aectual is looking for a computational designer who thrives at the intersection of parametric design and digital fabrication: someone who not only designs exceptional systems, but also brings them to life in our LAB.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate (or early-career professional) from ETH Zürich, IAAC, TU Delft (Hyperbody), or a comparable advanced parametric design background, who is eager to take ownership and grow fast.

At Aectual, we develop and produce 100% circular architectural and interior systems using large-scale robotic 3D printing. Our clients include leading global brands such as Nike, Tiffany & Co., BMW, and Schiphol Airport.

Your Role

You will work as part of our growing team and independently on new parametric system developments, often for international clients, while also being the operating lead and core of our print lab.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing advanced parametric designs (Rhino/Grasshopper) & translating designs into optimized 3D print files via our software
  • Operating large-scale 3D printers to produce samples, color test, material tests, and mock-up components
  • Running and maintaining our 3D print LAB
  • Support in creating strong visualizations and renders for sales and marketing purposes
  • Supporting the marketing team with high-quality visuals and product content
  • Bridging digital design and physical fabrication

This is not a purely desk-based role. You will prototype, test, print, adjust, and refine- hands-on.

You

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Computational Design, or a related field
  • Excellent parametric design skills (Rhino & Grasshopper required)
  • Strong visual communication skills (rendering & visualization)
  • Passion for digital fabrication and large-scale 3D printing
  • Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility
  • Not afraid to get your hands dirty in our LAB
  • Structured, precise, and technically strong
  • Fluent in English
  • Have a valid EU work permit or Dutch work authorization

What We Offer

  • A high-responsibility role with significant autonomy
  • The opportunity to see your parametric designs fabricated at 1:1 scale
  • A unique hybrid position combining design, technology, and production
  • A young, ambitious, international team
  • Direct exposure to international, high-end clients
  • Strong learning curve and room for growth

Join us in accelerating a radically sustainable way of building.
